Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Accounts Payable Officer to join our finance team at the head office in Southport. This full-time position requires working 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, collaborating with a dedicated accounts payable team to manage the complete accounts payable cycle across our entities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the accounts payable processing, promptly addressing and resolving any issues or queries.
- Accurately process supplier invoices, expense claims, and payment runs on schedule.
- Maintain and monitor the shared Accounts Payable mailbox efficiently.
- Handle new creditor setups, credit applications, and updates to vendor details.
- Reconcile supplier statements and accounts, resolving discrepancies or escalating as necessary.
- Review and analyze invoices ensuring correct general ledger coding.
- Ensure strict adherence to internal control procedures.
- Prepare fortnightly and monthly payment runs to meet deadlines.
- Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors to facilitate smooth payment operations.
- Support cost monitoring and reporting activities.
- Assist with month-end closing processes and financial reporting tasks.
Candidate Requirements
- Possession of a current National Police Clearance.
- 2 to 3 years of proven experience in a high-volume accounts payable environment.
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and online banking platforms.
- Experience with Ezescan, Therefore, and Microsoft Dynamics 365 is highly advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with a customer-focused approach.
- Strong organizational skills to prioritize and manage workload effectively.
- Capability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Proactive and inquisitive mindset towards problem-solving.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
