Job Overview
As an Accounts Manager, you will oversee and maintain day-to-day financial records and accounting transactions, ensuring precision in bookkeeping and ledger management. You will be responsible for recording various entries including journal, purchase, sales, receipts, payments, and expenses, along with managing accounts payable and receivable.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update general and subsidiary ledgers along with account books regularly.
- Record diverse financial transactions such as journal, purchase, sales entries, receipts, and payments accurately.
- Carry out comprehensive ledger and bank reconciliations periodically.
- Supervise vendor payments, customer outstanding amounts, expenses, and receivables tracking.
- Keep detailed documentation supporting all accounting transactions.
- Assist with monthly salary payments and payroll-related accounting tasks.
- Support GST, TDS, and other statutory compliance activities.
- Engage with vendors, clients, and internal departments to resolve billing and payment queries.
- Prepare trial balance sheets, expense statements, outstanding reports, and basic MIS reports.
- Contribute to the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.
- Identify and address discrepancies in accounting records promptly.
- Provide management with financial data, reports, and other finance-related insights as required.
Required Expertise
The candidate must possess solid practical knowledge of basic accounting principles, including bookkeeping, ledger and journal entry maintenance, debit and credit accounting, accounts payable and receivable management, purchase and sales accounting, as well as bank reconciliations and trial balance preparation. Familiarity with invoice and billing management, expense accounting, vendor and customer account management, and foundational GST and TDS concepts is mandatory.
Skill Set
- Thorough understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping methods.
- Competence in ledger preparation and maintenance.
- Proficient with journal entries and debit/credit account systems.
- Experience with accounting software applications and spreadsheet tools like MS Excel and Google Sheets.
- Basic knowledge of GST and TDS compliance.
- Strong numerical and analytical capabilities.
- Meticulous attention to detail and record-keeping accuracy.
- Effective communication and coordination abilities.
- Respect for confidentiality of financial information.
- Competence in handling multiple accounting processes and adhering to deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
A B.Com, M.Com, MBA in Finance, or related academic credentials are preferable. Candidates with 1 to 3 years of relevant accounting experience including practical exposure to Tally, GST, TDS, invoicing, ledger maintenance, reconciliation, and vendor management are favored. Fresh graduates demonstrating strong foundational accounting skills may also be considered.
