Role Objective

This position involves overseeing and directing the accounting activities for all subsidiaries within a major division of the Group. The Accounting Manager will ensure efficient financial supervision aligned with Group policies, contributing to the division’s financial integrity and reporting accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the accounting team, ensuring thorough supervision and review of accounting functions.
  • Enhance accounting procedures to streamline closing and reporting processes.
  • Oversee general and subsidiary ledger accounting as well as day-to-day finance and accounting operations.
  • Manage intercompany accounts in strict compliance with Group policies.
  • Monitor and control movements within the Fixed Assets Register.
  • Execute timely monthly, quarterly, and annual closings of comprehensive accounts sets, adhering to IFRS and local GAAP standards.
  • Prepare statutory and IFRS financial reports.
  • Coordinate audits and statutory financial statement preparations across all entities in the Rail division.
  • Review and approve payment vouchers and journal entries; arrange payments and participate in cash flow management and reporting to headquarters.
  • Supervise the filing of all local tax and VAT reports.
  • Ensure accurate accounting for currency fluctuations and foreign exchange transactions.
  • Develop and maintain robust internal controls and accounting systems; guarantee comprehensive and accurate financial records.
  • Review and distribute monthly financial reports internally and externally; schedule and lead financial close meetings involving finance, commercial, operations, asset management, and support teams.
  • Participate in ad-hoc finance projects, such as variance analysis, fixed asset software enhancement, business intelligence initiatives, and company acquisitions.
  • Provide direct support to the management team with financial insights and guidance.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; ACCA qualification preferred.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in financial and management accounting, preferably within the leasing sector.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-moving international environment.
  • A solid understanding of IFRS standards is highly advantageous.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with ANAEL accounting software and fluency in French are considered beneficial but not mandatory.
