About the Role

We are recruiting on behalf of a partner company seeking an Accountant located in the United Kingdom. This fully remote role involves supporting international accounting operations within a fast-paced and expanding global environment. The successful candidate will ensure precise financial record keeping, adherence to accounting standards, and assist in the month-end and year-end closing procedures spanning various jurisdictions. Collaboration with finance and cross-functional teams is essential to enhance financial processes while supporting statutory reporting and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Accurately record financial transactions using ERP systems by posting accounting entries and maintaining data integrity.
Conduct reconciliations related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, bank accounts, payroll, and intercompany balances.
Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual closing operations including balance sheet reconciliations and variance analyses.
Comply with local statutory and tax regulations, including VAT and corporate tax filings, statutory financial statements, and other regulatory duties.
Assist in statutory reporting, preparing financial statements, and providing support during audits.
Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and recommend process enhancements and participate in ad hoc finance projects.
Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting and efficient accounting functions.
Leverage automation and AI tools to optimize accounting workflows and improve operational efficiency.

Candidate Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Post-qualification experience in accounting within a corporate or international finance setting.
Thorough knowledge of GAAP principles and financial reporting standards.
Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP or equivalent platforms.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office software.
Strong analytical abilities with a careful eye for detail and accuracy.
Capability to handle multiple tasks while meeting deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Effective written and oral communication skills in English.
Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and collaborate efficiently with distributed teams.
Availability to operate during EMEA time zones.
Experience working remotely is preferred.
Confidence in applying automation technologies and AI to enhance accounting processes.
