Role Overview

The 3D Generalist/Animator will be responsible for producing top-quality 3D animations and sequences tailored for mixed media projects. This role involves close collaboration with directors, designers, and fellow animators to ensure animations meet both artistic vision and technical standards. Key daily activities include rig setup and refinement, animation blocking and polishing, handling motion capture data, and ensuring assets comply with project timelines and visual storytelling goals. The animator will actively participate in review sessions, incorporate feedback swiftly, and maintain well-structured project files for effective teamwork and handoffs.

Qualifications and Skills

• Advanced skills in 3D animation applicable to characters, props, and environmental elements.
• Proficiency in rigging, including building and fine-tuning rigs to enable expressive and efficient animation.
• Experience processing motion capture data, including cleaning and integrating it for production use.
• Hands-on knowledge of Maya or Blender across modeling, rigging, animation, and rendering processes.
• Strong grasp of animation fundamentals such as timing, principles, and visual storytelling.
• Effective communication and collaboration abilities in remote work settings, with reliability in part-time work commitment.
• Previous involvement in mixed media or narrative-driven animation projects is advantageous.
• Relevant educational background or formal training in animation, digital media, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
