Youth Support Worker – Dunedin/Otepoti

Role Overview

Community Care Trust is looking for dedicated Youth Support Workers to join their Youth Team in Dunedin (Ōtepoti). This role involves supporting young people (rangatahi) who have experienced trauma, adversity, or complex life situations. The position includes both full-time and part-time opportunities.

Job Responsibilities

You will engage closely with young people, facilitating their growth by building trust and creating safe, structured, and nurturing environments. The aim is to help rangatahi build confidence, acquire life skills, and foster independence through consistent support and encouragement. The role also embodies the Trust’s core values: Respect (Whakaute), Reliability (Pono), Transparency (Puataata), and Responsiveness (Whakautu).

Candidate Requirements

• Experience working with youth or in sectors such as health, disability, social services, or community support.
• Ability to establish respectful and positive relationships.
• Understanding of strengths-based, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive practices.
• Strong teamwork and effective communication skills.
• Resilience, empathy, and a heartfelt dedication to supporting young people.
• Valid New Zealand Driver Licence.
• Possession of or willingness to acquire a First Aid Certificate at no personal cost.
• Eligibility to work in New Zealand, with at least 12 months remaining on Work or Student Visas if applicable.
• Flexibility to work rostered shifts, including weekends.
