Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Yard Marshall to join our team and ensure the safe and efficient operation of our yard aligned with strict health and safety guidelines. This hands-on position involves controlling vehicle movement, supervising access points, and maintaining a secure environment for drivers, contractors, and staff on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform banksman duties to guarantee the safe navigation of vehicles within the yard.
- Uphold health and safety benchmarks by spotting and reporting possible risks.
- Organize and prioritize vehicle queuing for company and third-party use to facilitate smooth operations.
- Engage with visiting drivers, overseeing communication and traffic flow.
- Monitor compliant loading and unloading processes.
- Manage all incoming deliveries and coordinate administration with office personnel.
- Carry out gate inspections and regulate site entry following the Traffic Management Plan.
- Operate Roll-On/Roll-Off (RORO) machinery as part of induction and ongoing training.
Candidate Profile
- Certificate or experience in banksman operations related to vehicle guidance.
- In-depth understanding of health and safety practices and dedication to maintaining an accident-free workplace.
- Background in yard management, logistics, or site coordination roles.
- Familiarity with Traffic Management Plans and site control protocols.
- Strong organizational capabilities enabling multitasking and queue prioritization.
- Effective communication skills for coordination and relationship management.
- Ability to manage physical requirements and manual handling tasks.
- Possession of a full UK driving license is advantageous.
- Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

- Permanent full-time role committing to 45 hours weekly.
