Role Overview
This full-time, fixed-term position until 30 June 2027 at the City of Boroondara focuses on promoting volunteering and enhancing its profile within the community. The role involves developing initiatives that encourage volunteer engagement, support social inclusion, and strengthen community wellbeing across the municipality.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Volunteer Support & Development Lead to design and implement programs responding to volunteer sector trends.
- Plan and coordinate large-scale events linking prospective volunteers, including professionals, with community organizations and celebrate volunteer contributions.
- Enhance capabilities of volunteer-involving entities and Council departments through workshops, forums, or digital resources.
- Provide support for volunteer management within Council departments.
- Maintain and advance the Boroondara Volunteer Skills Bank and volunteer management database.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate possesses excellent oral and written communication skills and is approachable for diverse stakeholders, including government levels, organizations, and the public. A solid understanding of the volunteer environment is essential, alongside project management experience and event delivery expertise. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to collaborate within a team setting are important.

Employment Conditions
- Role includes an annual salary range between $87,101 and $100,905 plus superannuation and rostered days off.
- Appointment requires a valid Working with Children Check and a National Police Record Check.
- Applicants must have the legal right to work in Australia.
