Role Overview

The Video Editor will be based on-site in Dubai and work full-time to assemble and enhance video news content, including interviews and feature stories, intended for digital publication. Core responsibilities involve organizing raw footage, selecting and trimming clips, adding transitions and effects, performing fundamental color correction, and incorporating motion graphics and titles in line with editorial standards. The role requires close collaboration with journalists, producers, and the digital team to ensure visual narratives align with the platform's quality criteria and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Edit and compile video news segments, interviews, and features for online distribution.
• Cut and arrange footage with appropriate transitions and visual effects.
• Apply basic color correction to maintain visual quality and consistency across content.
• Create and integrate motion graphics such as titles, lower thirds, and infographics.
• Work alongside editorial and production personnel to meet deadlines and ensure content accuracy.
• Optimize video outputs for various digital platforms to maximize viewer engagement.
• Contribute creative ideas for enhancing the visual storytelling approach.

Qualifications & Skills

• Skilled in video production and editing workflows from raw footage to final delivery.
• Proficient in video color grading techniques to maintain clarity and consistency.
• Experienced with motion graphics and graphic design for dynamic visual elements supporting storytelling.
• Familiarity with industry-standard editing and graphics software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Photoshop, and Capcut.
• Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines in a fast-paced newsroom setting.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary on-site teams.
• Previous experience in digital media, news, or documentary editing is preferred.
• A diploma or degree in film, media, communications, or a related discipline is advantageous.
