Role Overview
This contract position is critical to fueling Suno’s growth through paid social media. The Video Editor will transform raw footage and creator content into compelling, scroll-stopping advertisements optimized for platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. This role demands creative initiative beyond mere assembly, empowering editors to craft engaging hooks and pacing strategies designed to maximize viewer attention and ad performance. Success is measured pragmatically by ad outcomes, with rapid testing and iteration key to refining concepts.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit various video materials — including raw footage, creator clips, and existing content — into ad-ready formats tailored for Meta, TikTok, YouTube, and X platforms.
- Develop captivating hooks and precise pacing that enhance viewer retention and prompt user action.
- Contribute original ideas and angles to creative concepts rather than following rigid specifications.
- Create multiple variations of successful edits to support ongoing creative experimentation.
- Implement native advertising techniques such as dynamic captions, pattern interrupts, on-screen text, and motion graphics for enhanced engagement.
- Adapt video edits to different formats and placements (9:16, 1:1, 4:5) suitable for Stories, Reels, and Feed placements.
- Analyze performance data to refine edits by emphasizing effective elements.
- Maintain a rapid and organized production workflow to ensure steady delivery of new creative content for testing.
Essential Qualifications
- Demonstrable portfolio featuring short-form video advertisements executed live on Meta and/or TikTok campaigns.
- Expert proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects; familiarity with CapCut for quick edits.
- Strong understanding of direct-response marketing principles including hooks, angles, pacing, and the rationale behind successful cuts beyond aesthetics.
- Ability to generate a high volume of quality variants efficiently under tight deadlines.
- Proactive and self-motivated approach to work, anticipating needs and contributing ideas independently.
- Experience editing native short-form content for Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok in diverse ad formats.
Preferred Skills
- Background in consumer subscription apps, growth agencies specializing in paid social, or direct-to-consumer/e-commerce brands.
- Competency in interpreting performance metrics such as hook rate, hold rate, and click-through rate (CTR) to optimize creative strategies.
- Experience integrating AI tools into creative workflows to enhance speed and innovation.
- Enthusiasm for music and cultural trends with an eye for relevant artistic elements.
Compensation and Work Details
This contract role offers between $70 and $90 per hour, dependent on experience, with an expected workload of approximately 20 to 40 hours weekly.
