Job Overview
We are seeking a versatile Video Editor to join our in-house team in San Francisco. This role involves collaborating closely with a small group to craft documentary-style videos highlighting the pioneers and organizations transforming the future. The ideal candidate is an adept storyteller skilled in pacing, emotion, narrative structure, and audience engagement. They must excel at translating complex technical content into relatable and captivating human-centered narratives that appeal to both specialists and general viewers.
Responsibilities
- Convert extensive hours of interviews, b-roll, archival footage, and production materials into engaging documentary narratives.
- Work in partnership with directors and producers throughout all editing stages from initial assembly to final delivery.
- Incorporate feedback promptly while preserving high-quality results within strict deadlines.
- Take full responsibility for organizing project files and managing the delivery workflow.
- Complete video finishing including color grading, sound editing, and occasionally creating basic animations using AI tools or After Effects.
- Innovate and expand S³'s intellectual property by developing new video formats and storytelling techniques.

- Residency in the San Francisco Bay Area or readiness to relocate.

Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range of $75,000 to $100,000 annually.
