Position Overview
The Vice President of Strategic Project Management leads the enterprise-wide portfolio of strategic initiatives, ensuring prompt and superior delivery of key business projects including digital transformation, organizational change, global expansion, product innovation, and process improvements. Partnering closely with the executive team, this leader translates strategic ambitions into practical project plans, establishes governance frameworks, boosts collaboration across functions, and fosters sustainable growth and value creation.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design and implement an enterprise-level governance framework for strategic projects.
- Lead the planning, execution, tracking, and completion of large-scale, cross-functional, strategic initiatives aligned with long-term corporate goals.
- Manage the portfolio of strategic projects, optimizing resource distribution to maximize return on investment.
- Develop and enforce project management standards, methodologies, timelines, budgets, and risk controls.
- Proactively resolve significant project risks, bottlenecks, and interdepartmental conflicts.
- Work alongside the CEO and senior leaders to develop and execute corporate strategic plans.
- Champion initiatives in digital transformation, operational optimization, organizational change, mergers, and global expansions.
- Enhance cross-departmental coordination by establishing effective communication channels and providing leadership, training, and performance oversight to project teams.
- Implement enterprise-wide risk assessment and mitigation strategies to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
- Oversee budget management, cost control, and efficient resource usage while evaluating project ROI and overall business impact.
- Establish KPIs and performance monitoring systems, regularly reporting progress to the Board and executives, and continuously improving project management processes through data-driven insights.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degrees like MBA or Master’s in related fields such as Business, Engineering, Project Management, IT, or Finance are advantageous.
- Over a decade of experience in project management, with at least five years in senior leadership roles.
- Proven track record in leading strategic projects within large multinational or rapidly growing companies.
- Experience establishing and running a Project Management Office (PMO) is preferred.
- Background in managing global projects and cross-functional initiatives is desirable.
