Uzbek/Russian Linguist CAT II

Role Overview

Valiant Integrated Services is looking for skilled linguists fluent in Uzbek and Russian to deliver interpretation, transcription, and translation services supporting ongoing and emerging U.S. missions.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform precise consecutive translation, transcription, and interpretation between Uzbek, Russian, and English languages.
• Convey various syntaxes including colloquialisms and slang accurately across Uzbek, Russian, and English.
• Operate in challenging and austere environments and travel as necessary.
• Provide insights on cultural and ethnic contexts relevant to communications, statements, and documents.
• Conduct thorough examination and analysis of foreign language documents.
• Fulfill any additional related duties assigned.

Candidate Requirements

• Proficiency at Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) Level 3/3 or higher in speaking and writing Uzbek, Russian, and English; native-level fluency is preferred.
• Deep understanding of regional culture; native familiarity is an advantage.
• Demonstrated experience interpreting and translating between Uzbek, Russian, and English.
• Ability to comprehend all standard dialect speech with minimal need for paraphrasing.
• Awareness of local customs and ability to interact effectively within the region's populace.
• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
• Must possess or be eligible for Secret level security clearance.

Additional Conditions

• Required Personnel Security Clearance (PSC) per job specifications or eligibility to obtain.
• Medical and dental fitness certification required, including adherence to immunization protocols relevant to the deployment region.
• Hearing capacity sufficient for safe performance, including ability to hear emergency alarms unaided; may require special testing and waiver if not met.
• Capacity to work under stress and comply with tight deadlines.
• Physical ability to lift and carry 50 pounds without assistance.
• No medical restrictions impeding task performance or use of protective equipment.
• Capability to work in harsh weather conditions such as extreme temperatures, low humidity, rain, sand, and dust.
• May require working irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Adherence to safe lifting and material handling procedures is mandatory.
• Physical demands include standing, stooping, crawling, and climbing with appropriate use of personal protective equipment for extended periods.
