Job Overview
This role focuses on the assembly of turbine and generator components at the Chorasi facility in Gujarat. The engineer will be responsible for coordinating monthly assembly plans for high pressure and intermediate pressure units, ensuring efficient resource availability, and monitoring quality and performance parameters.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute monthly assembly plans for high pressure (HP) and intermediate pressure (IP) units in the shop.
- Measure and document performance parameters such as Labor Efficiency (LE), Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OE), Total Quality Management (TQM), hydro testing, mandrel checks, clearance setting, and module measurements.
- Ensure there is no idle time by managing the availability of all shop resources, including tooling, fixtures, measuring instruments, and machinery.
- Verify accuracy and completeness of shop records and check sheets filled by both workers and supervisors.
- Implement Integrated Management System (IMS) protocols effectively within the shop floor operations.
- Analyze project delays by comparing actual progress against plans, applying PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycles to identify and address root causes.
- Coordinate brainstorming sessions with Manufacturing and Quality Control teams to foster process improvements and maintain control standards.
- Advise the design department on potential design modifications aimed at reducing the assembly cycle time.
- Carry out assembly tasks for turbine and generator parts per the requirements of the overhauling site team.
- Execute refurbishment assembly work in accordance with purchase order scopes.
- Promote workplace safety by controlling unsafe behaviors and conditions, supported by regular Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) reviews.
- Manage the disposal and safe use of hazardous waste materials such as oil-soaked cotton, plastics, chemical containers, and paint drums.
- Drive safety targets by improving 5S scores and the Safety Performance Index (SPI) across shop floor and office environments.
