About the Role
The Trainee Manager will assist the management team in overseeing all operations within the store while acquiring thorough experience working across different departments. This role is designed to develop skills necessary for effective store management and leadership.
Candidate Profile
- At least 1 year of retail industry experience is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and Word.
- Experience handling cash and tills is an advantage.
- Familiarity with managing fresh food products.
- Strong communication skills to effectively lead teams and interact with customers.
- Ability to delegate tasks efficiently.
- Motivated with a strong work ethic and determination to succeed.
- Understanding of commercial operations and brand positioning.
- A keen interest and enthusiasm for grocery retail.
- Capability to perform well in a dynamic and fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Embody and promote Centra’s brand values: Pride, Energy, Creativity, and Community focus.
- Collaborate with the team to set and achieve sales targets related to gross profit margin, net margin, waste reduction, and other key performance indicators as defined by the Store Manager.
- Engage actively in all company training, development programs, and performance reviews.
- Maintain merchandising standards by presenting the store and products according to designated planograms and guidelines at all times.
- Ensure proper implementation of planograms and maintain correct product assortments in-store.
- Become proficient in supply chain procedures including ordering, delivery, stock rotation, and inventory control.
- Oversee assigned departments, taking responsibility for their performance and operations.
- Embrace and participate in new initiatives and adapt to updated methods and processes.
