Job description

Overview

Join Cinemark as a Theatre Maintenance Technician and play a pivotal role in upholding the quality and safety of our theatres. You will be integral to repairing and caring for the theatre's infrastructure and equipment, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. Most tasks occur during non-operational hours but may also take place during showtimes. This role involves fixing auditorium seats, walls, restrooms, parking areas, concession machinery, and more. You will also supervise contractors during large-scale repairs outside your expertise.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform repair and upkeep of theatre areas including carpets, tiles, restroom fixtures, countertops, mirrors, walls, partitions, drinking fountains, minor plumbing and electrical tasks, office fixtures, and auditorium seats.
  • Maintain Cinemark tools and supplies; ensure cleanliness, orderliness, and proper storage.
  • Remove debris, broken parts, and used supplies from work zones promptly after jobs.
  • Clean and organize assigned maintenance storage locations.
  • Inspect theatre premises for cleanliness and operational integrity to prepare for the next day.
  • Coordinate maintenance and repair priorities with the General Manager.
  • Report parts and supply needs to management.
  • Keep possession of theatre keys and secure building access during non-operating hours.
  • Prevent unauthorized access during maintenance shifts.
  • Escort external vendors, granting them building entry and directing them appropriately.
  • Use personal protective equipment correctly while performing tasks.
  • Adapt cleaning processes to frequency and scope requirements.
  • Monitor and report safety and security concerns such as trip hazards, lighting issues, or suspicious activity.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • Flexible availability encompassing early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Consistency and reliability in attendance.
  • Energetic, friendly demeanor contributing to positive guest experiences.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, capable of interacting with diverse groups.
  • Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Ability to follow directions and respond promptly to urgent situations.
  • Own reliable transportation to obtain parts and materials.
  • Able to navigate confined spaces such as restroom stalls and tightly arranged seating rows.
  • Competence in safely mixing chemicals and disposing of them according to regulatory standards.

Physical and Environmental Demands

  • Regular activities include bending, kneeling, lifting weights up to 50 pounds.
  • Prolonged standing, walking, and reaching throughout the theatre.
  • Exposure to moderate to high noise levels during certain tasks.
  • Ability to maintain standing positions for extended durations.

Compensation

Hourly pay ranges from $18.74 to $20.03.
