Technician, Mechanical

Job Purpose

This role is responsible for carrying out preventive, breakdown, and shutdown mechanical maintenance on plant equipment so that production, quality, and safety targets are supported.

Mechanical Maintenance

• Perform assigned routine and preventive maintenance tasks, including replacing worn or damaged components and arranging test runs whenever needed to keep operations safe.
• Handle major equipment overhauls, measure and confirm clearances accurately, and decide whether parts should be reused or replaced to maintain equipment availability.
• Assist in diagnosing more complex faults and inspect and test finished work to verify that equipment performs efficiently and meets requirements.
• Prepare detailed daily activity reports covering the fault cause, the type of work completed, and the materials, labour, and time used, ensuring the task is documented correctly.
• Source and arrange the spare parts and tools required for maintenance work.
• Support new equipment installations, modifications, and testing through each stage according to the plan and the supervisor’s instructions, while ensuring all parameters are followed.
• Look for opportunities to improve the work carried out and support senior staff in implementing system modifications and enhancements.
• Maintain system records for work-order failure history reporting, contribute to method statements, and raise near-miss reports when required.
• Keep drawings, records, and other mechanical maintenance documents updated to ensure they remain available when needed.

Minimum Qualification

A technical diploma or a secondary school certificate, along with a vocational trade certificate in the relevant field.

Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills

At least 4 years of experience is required.
