Technician - Automation / Equipment (2 Years Apprenticeship Program)

About the Program and Role

Embark on your career path through our two-year apprenticeship program, designed to provide hands-on experience and guidance under the supervision of seasoned professionals. This role focuses on handling and maintaining plant automation machinery to ensure smooth production operations.

Key Duties

• Identify, troubleshoot, recover, and resolve breakdowns in automation equipment on the plant floor, including Autonomous Mobile Robots, Automated Strapping and Unstrapping Equipment, Automated Material Handling Systems, Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems, and Automated Packing Equipment.
• Manage and resolve basic computer hardware and software challenges independently or in collaboration with IT engineers.
• Conduct system and server recovery tasks associated with automation, manufacturing, storage, transportation, and remote command center systems.
• Assist engineers with software deployments and periodic system/server operating system and antivirus updates.
• Train operators on fundamental operation and troubleshooting techniques.
• Perform critical checks, restoration, and preventive maintenance on automated machinery.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives led by engineering teams.
• Collaborate on spare part management with engineering staff.

Candidate Profile

• Possess at least a NITEC certification in Mechatronics, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
• Have a minimum of two years’ work experience; prior exposure to automation equipment is advantageous.
• Be a cooperative team member yet capable of working independently.
• Exhibit strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Demonstrate eagerness to learn and the ability to assimilate skills rapidly.
• Willingness to work permanent 12-hour day or night shifts.
