About SWTCH
SWTCH develops EV charging solutions for multifamily residences and commercial properties across North America. Established in 2016 by founders with backgrounds in entrepreneurship, investing, and energy, the company set out to help communities access the social, financial, and environmental value of electric vehicle adoption. Its charging and energy management systems are now deployed in hundreds of multifamily buildings, and about half of those sites are categorized as low-to-moderate income. With its technology-led approach, SWTCH aims to make EV charging feasible for all types of buildings while continuing to expand its customer base across North America.
Role Overview
SWTCH is hiring a Technical Solutions Engineer to support the expansion of its EV charging business. In this position, you will provide technical expertise to customers and the sales organization, help uncover and progress new business opportunities, and contribute to the successful adoption of SWTCH solutions.
Core Responsibilities
- Offer hands-on technical guidance and support to customers and sales colleagues for EV charging products and solutions.
- Collaborate with the sales team to identify and advance partnership opportunities through technical input.
- Partner closely with engineering and product teams to ensure customer needs are reflected in the company’s offerings.
- Represent the company at trade shows and industry events to showcase products and services.
- Deliver training and educational sessions on EV charging solutions for partners and the sales team.
- Keep current with developments, trends, and emerging technologies in the EV charging space.
Qualifications and Expectations
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering, electrical engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in technical sales and technical support.
- Strong knowledge of EV charging systems and market trends.
- Excellent spoken and written communication abilities.
- Solid analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Comfort working both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Willingness to travel as needed for the role.
- A genuine interest in electric vehicles and clean technology.
- Ability to define goals and KPIs for yourself and help shape them as the team grows.
- High energy, positivity, and enthusiasm in day-to-day work.
- A warm, clear, engaging, and informative communication style.
- Comfort with translating complex topics into concise, practical messages.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-changing environment where ambiguity is common.
