Role Overview

We are on the lookout for a Technical Designer to join our dynamic team at Escape Velocity Entertainment. This role entails establishing and managing the technical framework and standards for gameplay systems throughout our game development process. Serving as a pivotal link between creative and technical teams, the Technical Designer ensures the delivery of robust, reusable gameplay content. Our technical design unit provides essential components that empower other departments to craft sophisticated gameplay experiences effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with various disciplines to identify optimal solutions for achieving the collective vision for the game.
Promote and maintain technical workflows and production pipelines.
Serve as a technical authority within the team, ensuring the availability of superior tools, documentation, and best practices.
Gain comprehensive knowledge of the game engine, its features, and supplementary development utilities.
Ensure sound system architecture within the department, emphasizing reuse and performance optimization.
Represent the technical design team's interests when collaborating with other departments.

Candidate Profile

Demonstrates the ability to collaborate across disciplines and offer constructive, accessible feedback to team members.
Proficient in technical scripting, including both visual and traditional text-based scripting approaches.
Highly self-driven in tackling creative and technical problem-solving.
Skilled in analyzing and breaking down the work of peers.
Solid understanding of game mechanics and level design fundamentals.
Communicates with clarity and precision.
Capable of working independently.
Preferred qualifications include:
Familiarity with programming languages like C++.
Knowledge of system optimization and technical constraints.
Understanding of network replication and limitations.
