Overview
Contribute to maintaining Blacktown City's parks, sports fields, reserves, and open spaces in a safe and accessible condition by performing unplanned maintenance tasks as part of the Rapid Response Team.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to maintenance issues arising across open spaces within Blacktown City.
- Perform landscaping duties including lawn mowing and garden upkeep in car parks and median strips.
- Set up community events and prepare sports fields for seasonal activities including line marking, installing/removing goal posts, and managing cricket wickets.
- Repair damaged city infrastructure and install temporary barricades as needed.
- Operate various machinery such as mowers, tractors, tip trucks, loaders, and water trucks.
- Collaborate with team members to provide urgent maintenance support during staff absences and unexpected events.
Requirements
- Ability to perform physically demanding, hands-on work in outdoor environments.
- Team-oriented approach and a commitment to maintaining high-quality public spaces.

- 38-hour workweek organized on a six-week roster, which includes 4 Saturdays in this period.
