Role Purpose
This position oversees all contractor activities related to tanks construction, ensuring compliance with project schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements. You will manage field operations to deliver construction work on time, within scope, and according to expected quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate construction contractors engaged in tank construction to optimize productivity and maintain adherence to schedules.
- Provide daily updates to the Construction Manager and project management team on progress and issues.
- Ensure all work aligns with Contractors’ Project Execution and HSE plans, enforcing strict compliance.
- Supervise execution of assigned site-built tank construction tasks.
- Support detailed daily planning and direction of on-site activities.
- Evaluate resource forecasts to verify timely delivery of materials, equipment, and workforce.
- Monitor and report any cost trends or risks within construction operations to management.
- Confirm that contractors’ schedules, methodologies, and resource allocations are coordinated and adequate.
- Track project scope changes and their implications on cost, timing, and schedule.
- Collaborate with field planners to ensure each activity is realistically planned, resourced, and executable.
- Maintain effective communication channels with stakeholders involved.
- Regularly liaise with the Construction Manager regarding field activities and potential problems impacting work performance.
- Foster positive relationships with contractors to enhance cooperation and delivery.
- Ensure adherence to all contractual policies, procedures, and stipulated terms.
Technical and Industry Qualifications
- Strong understanding of industry standards and practices for erecting and testing field-erected tanks and structural steel components.
- Demonstrated technical proficiency to consistently achieve quality and timely delivery within area of responsibility.
- 10 to 15 years of relevant construction experience.
- Proven track record in implementing safety protocols and achieving robust safety outcomes.
- Experience with quality assurance processes and maintaining performance standards.
