About The Business
Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL), a greenfield initiative under the Tata Group, specializes in manufacturing precision components. As a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd., Tata Electronics is establishing India's first AI-driven, cutting-edge Semiconductor Foundry. This facility will produce chips applicable in power management integrated circuits, display drivers, microcontrollers, and high-performance computing logic. The facility addresses increasing demand across automotive, computing and data storage, wireless communications, and artificial intelligence sectors. Tata Electronics forms part of the wider Tata Group, an organization active in over 100 countries and six continents, dedicated to enhancing quality of life through sustainable value creation founded on trusted leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Possess expertise in at least one or two commodities such as sheet metal, IC substrate/PCB (MLB), machining, casting, electrical components, wafers, epoxy mould compounds, surface treatments (plating, coating), or injection moulding; this is mandatory.
- Have between 4 to 8 years of relevant experience; holding certifications like ASQ, CQE, or Project Management certifications (PMI) is a strong advantage.
- Manage supplier selection, qualification, and approval processes including APQP and PPAP, conduct process audits following standards like VDA 6.3, IATF 16949, and ISO 9001, and maintain quality management systems (QMS).
- Perform first article inspections and approvals, handle supplier corrective actions involving 8D methodology, CAPA, and design of experiments (DOEs).
- Drive supplier development initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
- Conduct supplier risk assessments and technical evaluations; provide new product launch quality support.
- Address production line quality issues and customer complaints linked to supplier-related concerns.
Qualifications & Other Requirements
- Educational qualification of B.E/B.Tech from a Tier 1 or Tier 2 institute; additional qualifications such as M.Tech or M.S are favorable.
- Willingness to relocate to Assam and travel 20-30% within India and the APAC region.
