Position Overview
The Supply Chain Specialist is tasked with ensuring customer demand supportability and optimizing inventory turnover by managing supply chain activities efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess requirements to determine appropriate actions such as sourcing, purchasing, expediting, de-expediting, or cancellation.
- Conduct procurement research, provide recommendations, and negotiate to implement best practices.
- Create requests for quotes, purchase orders, and manage purchase order modifications.
- Ensure all purchases comply with customer-mandated flow down requirements.
- Collaborate closely with vendors to build and sustain strategic partnerships.
- Analyze relevant data to uphold sufficient supportability levels.
- Negotiate pricing to achieve optimal value and strategic advantages.
- Efficiently resolve both internal and external issues through clear communication.
- Keep track of inventory levels to maintain necessary supportability.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- Proficient in managing databases, spreadsheets, analytical tasks, and negotiations.
- Strong command over Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to read and interpret manufacturing blueprints and specifications.
- Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations is advantageous.
- Self-motivated and proactive work ethic.
- Excellent communication skills.
Education and Experience
Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree and/or have at least one year of relevant experience. Experience within the aerospace sector is considered an asset.
Additional Qualifications
- Reading and interpreting safety rules, instructions, and manuals effectively.
- Competent in writing routine reports and official correspondence.
- Able to present information confidently to groups of customers or employees.
- Skillful in calculating discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and applying basic algebra and geometry concepts.
- Capable of problem-solving with limited standardization, interpreting various instructional materials including written, oral, diagrams, or schedules.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Occasional standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting up to 10 pounds required.
- Regularly required to sit and use hands for fine tasks.
- Frequent communication duties involving talking and listening.
- Work occurs in environments with moderate noise levels.
- Minimal travel obligations.
