Role overview

Our client, a well-established print and packaging business in Cork, is looking for an experienced Supply Chain Manager to take ownership of planning activities across the full supply chain. This position focuses on making sure materials and finished goods move smoothly from suppliers through to customers while maintaining strong service levels, controlled inventory, and effective support for business expansion. The role is office-based, with occasional visits to customers.

What you will handle

  • Oversee demand forecasting, production planning, and stock control.
  • Create and implement manufacturing plans that strike the right balance between service, cost, and inventory.
  • Run customer order processing and maintain a high standard of customer support.
  • Track and improve OTIF performance, lead times, and wider supply chain results.
  • Lead the S&OP cycle so demand, supply, and business priorities stay aligned.
  • Partner with Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics, Sales, and Finance to solve supply challenges and improve overall performance.
  • Manage the launch of new business and the movement of products between companies.
  • Spot operational risks and put practical mitigation actions in place.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts and prepare performance reports.
  • Guide, coach, and support the Planning and Customer Service teams.

Experience and skills needed

  • Background in supply chain, production planning, or demand planning.
  • Practical experience in production scheduling and inventory management.
  • Working knowledge of S&OP, ERP/MRP platforms, customer service, and order management.
  • Confident leadership ability with people management experience.
  • Demonstrated use of planning systems, ERP/MRP tools, and S&OP processes.
  • Strong customer orientation with good commercial judgement.
  • Highly analytical, with advanced Excel and data interpretation ability.
  • Proactive, practical, and willing to support day-to-day operations when needed.
  • Clear communicator with strong relationship-building skills.
  • Continuous improvement mindset; Lean or Six Sigma exposure is an advantage.

Qualifications

  • A qualification in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or a similar field.
  • Between 5 and 7 years of experience in supply chain planning, demand planning, or manufacturing operations.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification would be beneficial.
