Job Overview
Worcestershire County Council is seeking a dedicated Streetworks Inspector to oversee and coordinate works on the county's highway network, ensuring minimal disruption and compliance with relevant legislation. This permanent, full-time role involves 37 working hours per week.
Primary Responsibilities
- Inspect reinstatements for utility and private undertaker openings within highway areas.
- Identify and issue defects related to reinstatements and manage these through resolution.
- Monitor sites during the guarantee period post-completion.
- Ensure compliance with permits and regulations under the New Roads & Street Works Act and Traffic Management Act 2004.
- Utilise inspection tools, including handheld devices, and maintain accurate records using systems like Aurora.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience working in a similar, fast-paced environment, preferably within street works inspection or highway authority sectors.
- A solid understanding of street works registers and the West and Shires Permit Scheme (WaSP).
- Good communication abilities and capability to work well within a team.
- Familiarity with Aurora software and handheld inspection technology is advantageous.
