Role overview
This is a senior commercial account management role focused on renewal ownership and account growth across a portfolio of enterprise customers. You will run the renewal cycle end to end, create and execute expansion plans, manage executive relationships, and work closely with Customer Experience Managers who handle product adoption and customer success on shared accounts. You will be the commercial lead customers depend on to protect and grow the relationship.
The position suits someone who performs well in complex enterprise settings, builds credibility with senior stakeholders, and is comfortable leading high-stakes commercial discussions that create value for both the customer and the company.
Key responsibilities
- Take full ownership of renewals for a portfolio of enterprise accounts, anticipate risk in multi-stakeholder environments, lead negotiations, and secure renewals before they become urgent issues.
- Create account plans aligned to each customer’s goals and execute them with discipline to expand the partnership over time.
- Spot and drive growth opportunities within your accounts, including upsells, cross-sells, and contract expansion, and manage those conversations from initial discussion through close.
- Partner with Customer Experience Managers as peers on shared accounts, with clear separation between commercial ownership and product/adoption ownership.
- Lead executive business reviews that connect Canvs outcomes to the customer’s strategic priorities, strengthen internal champions, and reveal new opportunities for growth.
- Represent the customer internally across Product, Support, and the broader post-sales organization to ensure concerns are heard and addressed.
- Monitor account health continuously, watch engagement signals closely, surface risks early, and intervene before issues escalate.
Required experience and capabilities
- At least 5 years of account management experience in a B2B SaaS environment, with a strong record of retaining and growing enterprise accounts.
- Proven ability to manage complex enterprise relationships involving multiple stakeholders and to handle renewal and expansion negotiations with procurement, legal, and executive decision-makers.
- A commercial approach that connects customer objectives to business impact and turns that understanding into revenue-driving account strategy.
- Experience managing enterprise clients with six-figure contract values, lengthy procurement cycles, long sales cycles, and multiple layers of decision-making.
- Ability to identify and pursue growth within existing accounts without depending on a separate sales function to create opportunities.
- Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to quickly earn trust and maintain it consistently.
- Disciplined CRM usage in HubSpot or Salesforce to manage pipeline and account activity as a working tool rather than just a reporting system.
Preferred background
- Exposure to the consumer insights or market research world, including agencies, research firms, or brand-side insights teams.
- Experience in a startup or growth-stage environment where you had to build process with limited resources.
- Background in or around an AI company, especially helping customers adopt and apply AI-powered products in their day-to-day work.
