Role overview
This position focuses on the engineering, delivery, and ongoing management of upstream facility infrastructure. The engineer will coordinate across functions to build and improve safe, compliant, and cost-conscious systems for oil, gas, and produced water.
Core responsibilities
- Own infrastructure planning and project coordination for the assigned assets.
- Handle the design, installation, expansion, and startup of production-related facilities.
- Oversee midstream projects such as compression, power generation, oil stabilization, and gas treatment.
- Create, update, and use hydraulic and process simulation models for oil, gas, and produced water networks.
- Coordinate pipeline engineering and permit activities with regulatory stakeholders.
- Act as project lead for pipeline and facility initiatives.
- Prepare equipment specifications and work with supply chain teams to estimate material needs.
- Support operations and maintenance teams with engineering input.
- Develop AFEs and monitor project costs, forecasts, and spending.
- Contribute to process improvements, cost reduction efforts, and emissions-reduction initiatives.
- Assist with mechanical integrity work and reinforce a strong safety mindset.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum, or Electrical Engineering is required.
- You should bring at least 10 years of experience in upstream or midstream facilities engineering.
- Hands-on understanding of production facilities, process equipment, and field construction methods is expected.
- Working knowledge of relevant industry codes, environmental rules, regulatory requirements, and safety standards is important.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills are needed to collaborate with multidisciplinary groups.
- Comfort working in a fast-moving environment with changing priorities is essential.
Additional information
Periodic travel to field locations will be required.
