What you'll do
- Design, build, and test software products and applications.
- Work with Uber's technology stack to create, improve, and validate software solutions.
- Use technical judgment to assess complex data, ongoing developments, and project details, then recommend fixes for technical challenges.
- Help keep business operations running smoothly and contribute to higher engineering productivity.
- Develop software components that can be combined into complete, working systems.
- Investigate and resolve production issues affecting product reliability and system stability.
Experience and qualification details
Uber will consider candidates with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics, or a related discipline, along with 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the same role or a related one.
Required technical background
- At least 5 years of experience with one or more of the following: C++, Python, Java, GIT, or SVN.
- At least 5 years of experience working with SQL or MySQL.
- Strong background in data structures and algorithms.
- Experience designing technology stacks.
- Experience debugging and monitoring production services.
- Knowledge of distributed systems.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle.
