Service Engineer (Fire Alarm and Public Address Systems)

Overview

The role involves installation, testing, commissioning, and upkeep of Fire Alarm and Public Address (PA) Systems at client locations, ensuring their optimal operation and compliance with safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute installation and commissioning of fire alarm and PA systems at varied client sites.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance according to contracted schedules.
• Identify and resolve faults involving fire alarm panels, detectors, manual call points (MCPs), hooters, speakers, amplifiers, and related devices.
• Respond promptly to service requests and emergency breakdowns within agreed response times.
• Perform regular inspections verifying system functionality aligned with safety protocols and project specifications.
• Test devices, maintain accurate service documentation including reports and inspection checklists after visits.
• Communicate and coordinate with clients, site personnel, and suppliers concerning maintenance and system performance.
• Replace defective components and restore system operability post-repair.
• Contribute to system upgrades, expansions, and modifications as needed.
• Adhere to company policies, safety standards, and legal regulations while onsite.
• Provide basic operational training to end users about system use and maintenance.
• Maintain necessary tools, testing equipment, and spare parts for service duties.
• Assist project teams during system commissioning and handover of new installations.
