Overview
The Sentence Planning Coordinator plays an integral role in the daily operations within Sentence Management Services, working either at a correctional centre or designated hub locations. This position entails carrying out diverse sentence management duties, including prisoner engagement and assessment, preparing detailed reports, and managing administrative responsibilities linked to lawful detention, court appearances, and parole procedures.
Key Responsibilities
The role also involves supervising and coordinating service delivery for small teams, ensuring adherence to deadlines, legislation, and departmental policies, procedures, and directives.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A solid understanding of the criminal justice system or a similar regulated environment is advantageous; alternatively, relevant workplace experience that showcases the ability to quickly master this knowledge is valued.
- Proven capability to work effectively under demanding conditions, with exceptional planning and organizational abilities to handle multiple simultaneous tasks within set timeframes.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills are essential for effective engagement with various internal and external stakeholders.
- Advanced problem-solving abilities to recognize and address issues promptly, including identifying and managing risks relating to prisoner handling.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail, especially in producing comprehensive reports for diverse audiences.
- Experience in supervising personnel, managing priorities, overseeing workflows, and developing localized strategies or operational methods.
