Overview
Advance your engineering career by joining Beca as a Senior Transmission Lines Engineer. This role involves leading the design and implementation of critical transmission line infrastructure across New Zealand and Australia, supporting the development of resilient, renewable energy-enabled power networks.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define project scope, design transmission line systems, and ensure delivery aligned with decarbonisation and renewable energy goals. Lead complex design projects across varied geographic environments, utilizing specialized software such as PLS-CADD to model structural loads, clearances, and weather impacts. Conduct engineering evaluations, develop mitigation strategies, oversee design completion, and enforce health, safety, and transmission standards. Engage with clients and industry partners throughout the project lifecycle, from concept to asset decommissioning.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate has substantial experience in transmission line design and delivery, gained through consulting, asset ownership, or industrial backgrounds. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead client interactions and team efforts are essential. The role demands analytical thinking, curiosity, judicious collaboration, and a positive, team-oriented attitude. Early career graduates are not suited for this senior position.
