Senior QA/QC Engineer

Primary Role Overview

The Senior QA/QC Engineer is responsible for providing expert technical leadership and comprehensive accountability to ensure the efficient implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS) within all activities of the Offshore Department. This role guarantees that projects strictly adhere to QatarEnergy Standards, Shell DEPs, and other relevant international codes and standards as outlined in Project Quality Plans (PQPs). The engineer will continuously oversee and validate compliance with quality criteria throughout the entire project lifecycle, aiding in the delivery of projects that are safe, reliable, and consistent.

Professional Experience and Competencies

• Possess over 15 years of QA/QC experience specifically in oil and gas projects with significant offshore exposure.
• Maintain at least 5 years of experience in a senior capacity within QA/QC roles.
• Certified Lead ISO 9001 Auditor with additional certifications in quality management considered beneficial.
• In-depth understanding of international quality codes, standards, and experience in developing and applying comprehensive Quality Management Systems.
• Practical expertise in QA/QC activities spanning engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
• Knowledgeable about manufacturing inspection processes, material certification, and QA/QC practices in those domains.
• Proficient in aspects of offshore construction, welding processes, and Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) techniques, including traditional and advanced methods.
• Exceptional communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Demonstrated leadership skills to effectively lead and inspire project and contractor QA/QC teams.

Academic and Professional Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field from a recognized international university, preferably in Mechanical Engineering.
• A Master’s degree is desirable.
• Membership in a relevant Professional Institution is favored.
