Role Overview
The Senior Manager of Project Management will lead a portfolio of complex energy and infrastructure projects, managing multiple projects and leading Project Managers and Coordinators. This role is responsible for timely, budget-conscious, and quality execution aligned with customer expectations, while serving as a main liaison for customer stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct planning and coordination of a portfolio of customer EPC projects ensuring alignment with timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Track portfolio milestones, risks, performance metrics, and financial forecasting.
- Proactively identify potential project delays, budget overruns, and challenges; lead resolution efforts.
- Manage budgeting and financial performance at the portfolio level.
- Support early-stage project development during customer opportunity phases.
- Supervise and develop Project Managers and Coordinators, establishing clear expectations and accountability.
- Provide coaching and foster professional growth while standardizing project management practices.
- Collaborate with broader project delivery teams to enhance tools and processes.
- Serve as a trusted point of contact for customers, delivering transparent updates on progress, risks, and resolutions.
- Present portfolio status and technical content in accessible terms to varied stakeholders including executives.
- Coordinate regular reporting (weekly, quarterly, annually) on portfolio status.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Programs, Commercial Solutions, EH&S, Finance, and Customer Experience.
- Offer expertise on energy efficiency and sustainable technologies implementation.
- Ensure alignment between customer commitments and operational/project delivery needs.
Qualifications
- Over 10 years' experience in construction management, technical project management, or related fields such as trade contracting.
- Background in HVAC, controls, electrical systems, distributed generation, energy services, or comparable markets.
- Proven experience supervising Project Managers and managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Strong competencies in project planning, scheduling, cost management, and forecasting.
- Experience handling project contracts, scopes, and change management.
- Skilled in managing customer relations and communicating with executive-level stakeholders.
- Familiarity with project management software and cloud-based information management tools.
- Commitment to occupational safety on work sites and offices.
- Willingness to travel roughly 10–30% based on portfolio needs.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Procore project management software.
- Knowledge in battery energy storage, utilities, clean energy, or energy services sectors.
- Exposure to project development in clean energy, resilience, or energy efficiency.
- Comfort with Salesforce, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and Slack tools.
- Project management certifications such as PMP, CCM, or similar.
- Relevant safety training or certifications (OSHA, NFPA, etc.).

Compensation & Benefits
The position offers a salary range from $165,000 to $209,000 annually, reflecting experience, qualifications, and location, along with eligibility for annual performance-based bonuses.
