About Airbnb
Founded in 2007 by two hosts opening their home in San Francisco to three guests, Airbnb has expanded to include over 5 million hosts and more than 2 billion guest arrivals worldwide. The platform enables unique stays and experiences, connecting guests authentically with local communities across almost every country.
Team and Mission
The EMEA growth team aims to speed regional expansion by empowering country teams to implement localized growth strategies, concentrating largely on boosting demand. Collaboration spans marketing, product, communications, data science, and policy at central and local levels to create integrated, scalable programs across markets.
Role Overview
As Senior Growth & Operations Manager for EMEA, you will partner with both regional and country leaders to devise and implement strategies to accelerate Airbnb's development across the region. Success in this role demands meticulous attention to detail, a strong analytical approach, excellent organizational capabilities, and outstanding communication skills. You will thrive managing multiple complex projects simultaneously in a dynamic, fast-changing environment, balancing strategic planning with impeccable execution, and equally comfortable briefing executives and handling operational follow-through.
Location and Working Arrangement
This position is based in London, Berlin, or Barcelona with a hybrid schedule requiring two days per week onsite. Please note this role does not include relocation assistance.
Typical Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Lead the full lifecycle of multifaceted cross-functional projects: from defining clear problem statements and ideal solutions, identifying and resolving blockers with stakeholders, to concluding post-project evaluations; initiatives cover demand, supply, regulation, and include both short-term gains and long-term strategies.
- Evaluate, organize, and operate pilot programs targeting diverse topics such as traffic growth, customer relationship management, growth marketing, sourcing new supply segments, and establishing distribution partnerships.
- Facilitate and steer regular business operations meetings to maintain progress on key projects and raise issues promptly; coordinate efforts across sales, marketing, product, community, and legal teams.
- Analyze data from multiple sources to identify trends, formulate problem definitions, and develop actionable recommendations presented to regional leadership to influence critical business decisions.
Key Qualifications
- Minimum 6 years professional experience, ideally including business consulting or strategy and operations roles within a scale-up environment; technical background is advantageous.
- Solid grounding in business with knowledge of operations, sales, growth marketing, and commercial partnerships.
- Proven project management skills leading cross-departmental initiatives, with proficiency in project management methodologies, issue framing, hypothesis development, and prioritization to meet shared objectives.
- Strong analytical capabilities performing end-to-end business analysis using advanced Excel and AI tools; familiarity with SQL or Python is beneficial.
- Pragmatic, hands-on, and attentive to detail, focusing on rapid delivery and iterative learning.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to persuade and present to senior stakeholders.
- Fluent English is mandatory; proficiency in an additional European language will be considered a prominent asset.
- Candidates must be located in London, Berlin, or Barcelona and able to regularly attend the office.
Inclusivity Commitment
Airbnb actively seeks talent from diverse backgrounds to foster innovation and inclusiveness. All qualified candidates are highly encouraged to apply.
