Senior Director Analyst - Analytics & AI Governance (Remote UK or Ireland)

Overview

This leadership role within Gartner positions you as an expert who delivers critical research, industry insights, and best practices related to Analytics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and data science. As a Senior Director, you will craft impactful research content, advise clients on strategic decisions, and engage with market trends and technologies. The role involves producing authoritative material on topics including agentic analytics, decision intelligence, AI engineering, content management, analytics and business intelligence, data science, and machine learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop clear, high-quality research reports and analyses covering strategy, business value, market developments, technology, and vendor landscapes in Analytics & AI.
• Diagnose client challenges to redefine problems and guide strategy development forward.
• Conduct broad-based market coverage while delivering innovative, data-driven research with analytical depth and factual evidence.
• Provide pragmatic, AI-centric advisory services to clients through virtual or in-person engagements.
• Prepare and present materials for Gartner events, industry conferences, webinars, and client briefings.
• Review peers' research to ensure quality and mentor team members.
• Forecast market evolution, assist clients in technology vendor selection, and guide vendor positioning strategies.
• Actively collaborate with colleagues in analytics and AI research to foster innovation and ideation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience; postgraduate degrees are preferred.
• At least 12 years of professional experience in Analytics and AI, including leadership or senior technical positions in technology or business sectors.
• Deep understanding of the roles and responsibilities of Chief Data & Analytics Officers, Heads of Analytics and AI, or comparable positions, along with industry and market insight.
• Exceptional written and oral communication, analytical reasoning, and presentation capabilities with proven client engagement skills.
• A self-driven professional capable of independent work and collaborative efforts within a diverse, global environment.
• An executive presence that enables immediate credibility with senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Strong organizational abilities to manage deadlines and deliver high-quality work.
• Advanced analytical thinking, including application of conceptual frameworks, pattern recognition, and evidence-based conclusion defense.
• Subject matter expertise with experience presenting at events of varying scale.
