Role Overview

The Senior Designer (HVAC / MEP) will work under the Discipline Team Leader/Manager and Lead Engineer, taking primary ownership of coordinated MEP design output. This position is responsible for producing detailed HVAC, plumbing, and drainage drawings, along with layouts and IFC documentation, in line with project requirements. The role supports both FEED and detailed design phases.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare coordinated MEP design deliverables covering HVAC, plumbing, and drainage systems.

Develop layouts, schematics, and IFC drawings that align with engineering and project requirements.

Create ducting, piping, drainage network, and equipment layout drawings.

Revise drawings based on feedback from engineers and clients.

Liaise with architectural, structural, electrical, and fire-fighting teams to maintain design coordination.

Track drawing updates, preserve revision history, and support document control processes.

Skills and Experience

Candidates should hold a Professional Diploma in Mechanical Drafting or an equivalent qualification.

Experience of 8 to 12 years in oil and gas or industrial projects with a major contractor or consultancy is required.

Strong working knowledge of QatarEnergy, Shell DEP, ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, QCS, KAHRAMAA, and Ashghal standards is preferred.

Prior exposure to consultancy environments, especially within GCC or Qatar, is also preferred.

Proficiency in Carrier HAP (v5.2 and v6.4), AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and BIM coordination tools will be an advantage.
