Role Overview
The Senior Bridge/Civil Structures Engineer will join a dynamic and expanding international bridge team consisting of over 350 professionals. Located in Auckland, this role involves leading and contributing to various bridge and civil structure projects, working cohesively within a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with project teams, clients, and external parties to identify needs and devise bridge engineering solutions.
- Develop engineering designs for bridges and civil structures across phases from concept through construction, maintenance, and closure.
- Perform detailed analysis and design computations for diverse bridge types, adapting to office practices and varied design and construction methodologies.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary collaboration by engaging in workshops and risk evaluation sessions.
- Conduct site inspections and prepare construction site reports.
- Support engineers and drafters in producing detailed construction documentation.
- Assist in project management and contribute to project support activities.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, corporate policies, and procedural guidelines.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum eight years of engineering experience, including at least four years within New Zealand.
- Experience with rail structures and local council bridge projects is essential.
- Knowledge of NZTA standards and temporary works, as well as Australian bridge design, is advantageous.
- Experience in water structure projects is considered a benefit.
- Possession of relevant engineering qualifications and Chartered Engineer status in New Zealand.
- Proven track record as a senior engineer specializing in bridge design, primarily focusing on road transport projects.
- Strong technical capabilities in bridge and structural engineering.
- Experience with bridge inspections, assessments, and reinforcement schemes.
- Proficiency with engineering software such as SBD, Midas, and Strand7.
- A creative approach to engineering challenges that leads to practical and effective design solutions.
