Position Overview
Joining Walmart Canada as a Self-Checkout Attendant offers an excellent chance to enhance your retail and customer service skills. In this role, you will deliver outstanding support to customers utilizing the self-checkout lanes, ensuring their shopping experience is seamless and positive.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the self-checkout area, keeping it free from unnecessary items, debris, and spills.
- Guide customers on the proper and efficient use of self-service checkout options when needed.
- Encourage participation in company-sponsored programs, such as credit card services, product protection plans, and charitable campaigns when appropriate.
- Monitor customer activity to identify when assistance might be required.
- Perform self-service interventions and quality assurance checks, tactfully explaining their necessity to customers and reassuring them that these are standard operational procedures.
- Be knowledgeable about responding to Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) alarms and properly document incidents using the Failure to Deactivate Log.
- Notify the Customer Service Manager if cash levels in self-checkout machines are low or if technical difficulties arise.
- Ensure Scan & Go scanners are returned to their designated storage location post-use.
Compensation
This position begins with a starting wage of $16.15 per hour.
Minimum Requirements
- Applicants must be 16 years of age or older.
