About the Role
The Government of Ethiopia, as a sovereign public institution, is responsible for national governance, citizen protection, and safeguarding critical infrastructure and information across various ministries and agencies. Joining as a Security Professional based in Addis Ababa, you will play a key role in protecting government facilities, personnel, and systems through integrated physical and cybersecurity efforts. This full-time position requires on-site presence to actively participate in maintaining the nation's safety and resilience.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage security systems to ensure the integrity of infrastructure and information.
- Assess potential risks and security vulnerabilities regularly.
- Implement and enforce security protocols across physical and cyber domains.
- Respond promptly to security incidents or breaches.
- Conduct thorough security audits and maintain accurate documentation.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with government policies and prevailing standards.
- Participate in developing and delivering training initiatives to foster a strong security awareness culture within the organization.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Expertise in cybersecurity and information security to protect digital information and assets.
- Proficiency in network security, including managing access controls and threat monitoring.
- Experience with physical security measures aimed at protecting facilities, equipment, and personnel.
- Strong communication capabilities for effective coordination with stakeholders and report preparation.
- Background in security operations, risk management, or incident response, especially within public sector or critical infrastructure contexts, is beneficial.
- Familiarity with security frameworks, standards, best practices, and relevant regional and national regulations.
- Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams, maintain confidentiality, and exercise sound judgment under pressure.
- Preferred academic qualifications include fields such as security, information technology, law enforcement, or related disciplines, or equivalent professional experience.
