Role Summary

We are currently searching for experienced Security Officers to join our new forensic mental health facility in Gormanston, County Meath. The position requires ensuring safety and security uphold the highest standards for patients, staff, visitors, and company assets.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide physical security and protection for patients, staff, visitors, and others on Tearmann House premises.
• Shield company property, vehicles, and assets from harm or theft.
• Manage distribution and control of keys.
• Conduct patrols around Tearmann House and its boundaries to prevent damage, fire, trespassing, vandalism, theft, assault, and wastage.
• Report property loss, theft, or recovery promptly to Head of Security.
• Maintain up-to-date security records.
• Monitor CCTV systems effectively.
• Address security-related requests including managing challenging visitors or patients.
• Understand and commit to Tearmann House’s security aims and objectives.
• Adhere to scheduled attendance and work shifts including day and night duties as rostered.
• Maintain a professional appearance, wearing all required uniforms or identification as provided.
• Implement organizational policies such as Tobacco Free Policy, Parking Policy, and Observation Policy.
• Follow infection prevention and control protocols, including hand hygiene, dress code, and health and safety measures.
• Operate firefighting, access control, communication, and related equipment as necessary.
• Perform fire prevention and security patrols inside and outside the service unit as directed.
• Inform management regarding security, traffic control, and fire prevention concerns.
• Manage traffic and parking control within the service unit grounds; coordinate with external parking management as needed.
• Investigate and report incidents occurring within the service unit.
• Execute security measures under the Major Accident Plan.
• Liaise with An Garda Síochána on security matters related to the service unit.
• Provide escorts for personnel and property when required.
• Maintain and update IT databases pertinent to security operations.

Qualifications and Experience

• Must hold a valid PSA Licence.
• At least some recent experience (within 3 years) in security services or related fields.
• Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare setting is highly advantageous.
