Scrum Master

Position Overview

This opportunity is offered through a partner company located in Germany, seeking an experienced Scrum Master to join a technology-focused environment. The role supports multiple Agile teams to enhance collaboration, delivery practices, and continuous improvement. You will collaborate with 3-5 cross-functional Scrum and Kanban teams, fostering autonomy, efficiency, and alignment with business objectives. Key activities include facilitating Agile ceremonies, coaching teams and stakeholders, and leveraging data insights to optimize delivery flow, quality, and team wellbeing. Close cooperation with Product Owners, technical leads, and Agile practitioners will help evolve modern development methodologies and scale Agile across the organization. This position embraces a fully remote work setup based across Europe.

Key Responsibilities

• Coach and support multiple Scrum and Kanban teams at varying Agile maturity levels to enhance their effectiveness, teamwork, and self-organization.
• Lead Scrum events, Kanban cadences, retrospectives, workshops, strategic sessions, and stakeholder discussions across teams.
• Guide Product Owners, Team Leads, and members in Agile principles, fostering continuous improvement and robust delivery methods.
• Mentor other Scrum Masters and contribute actively to the broader organizational Agile practices.
• Monitor, analyze, and report Delivery, Flow, Quality, and Team Health metrics; create dashboards to inform improvement and decision-making strategies.
• Identify, escalate, and assist in removing obstacles impacting teams beyond their immediate scope.
• Drive initiatives aimed at process optimization, enhancing collaboration and delivery excellence.
• Participate in defining Agile strategy by establishing common principles, metrics, and cross-team collaboration standards while respecting team autonomy.
• Advocate for a culture of transparency, experimentation, psychological safety, and lifelong learning.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• At least 4 years' experience in Scrum Master, Agile Coach, or comparable roles with hands-on experience supporting multiple Agile teams simultaneously.
• Deep understanding of Scrum, Kanban, and diverse Agile methods, with the flexibility to tailor practices according to the team's context and business needs.
• Demonstrated success in team development and effective collaboration with Product Owners, engineering leadership, and technical stakeholders.
• Strong facilitation abilities, adept in managing complex discussions, retrospectives, workshops, and resolving conflicts.
• Experience evaluating team maturity, nurturing team growth, and fostering psychologically safe environments.
• Practical knowledge working with delivery and flow metrics such as Lead Time, Cycle Time, Throughput, Work In Progress (WIP), Flow Efficiency, Sprint Predictability, Cumulative Flow Diagrams (CFD), and Velocity.
• Ability to correlate process metrics with quality indicators, business results, and team health findings.
• Proficient in creating dashboards and reports utilizing tools like Jira, Google Sheets, and Confluence.
• Familiarity with software development lifecycles including SDLC, Git Flow, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), Release Management, SLO/SLI concepts, and DevOps best practices.
• Strong systems thinking, influence without formal authority, excellent communication skills, and capable of managing challenging conversations grounded in data.
• Experience within product companies managing multiple web development teams, leading Agile scaling efforts, Evidence-Based Management, Liberating Structures, or Agile Centers of Excellence is advantageous.
