직무 설명
Role overview
The School Resource Officer works under supervision and carries out a broad set of law-enforcement duties to help keep order and ensure safety in a detention-facility school environment.
Key duties
- Carry out law-enforcement responsibilities in a polished and professional way, following established policies and instructions.
- Complete a pat-down security check for every student entering the secured part of the building, including at morning and afternoon session start times and whenever youth leave for class or lunch breaks.
- Routinely inspect classrooms, corridors, and school office areas on foot.
- Intervene with students who are disruptive or not dressed appropriately.
- Search youth-occupied spaces for contraband or any safety violations after each movement, including breaks and at the start and end of each session.
- Keep an eye on individual security equipment and report any issues right away so fixes can be made promptly.
- Coordinate with supervisors, education personnel, and support staff to encourage stronger student participation.
- Remain standing for long periods as part of the job requirements.
- Lead group conversations with students on law-enforcement-related topics when requested.
