About the Role
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) is an elite group specializing in emergency response, combining Fire and Rescue Services along with Emergency Medical Services. Our team is committed to protecting lives and property during both routine and emergency situations.
Job Overview
As a Fire and Rescue Specialist (FRS), you will be developed into a motivated leader proficient in fire prevention, emergency response, rescue operations, and fire investigations. Training also includes gaining skills as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). After initial assignments, there are several opportunities to specialize further in areas such as the Disaster Assistance Response Team, Hazardous Material handling, or Marine Specialization, alongside options for skill enhancement and diverse career paths.
Career advancement prospects include positions such as Fire Station Deputy ROTA Commander or Fire & Rescue Instructor. Those demonstrating excellent performance may be considered for accelerated promotion directly to lieutenant rank and beyond.
Compensation and Benefits
- Stable full-time employment with a competitive monthly salary ranging from $2940 to $4370, inclusive of frontline and shift allowances
- A sign-on bonus of $30,000 upon appointment, subject to eligibility

Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum educational attainment of GCE A-Level, Higher NITEC, Polytechnic Diploma, IB, NUS High School, NAFA, LASALLE, or ITE (excluding Culinary Arts)
- For applicants with National Service obligations, a medical classification of PES B1 or higher is mandatory
- Must meet the minimum pass standards for the Individual Physical Proficiency Test (IPPT)
- Pre-enlistees will be required to commit to a 5-year Minimum Term of Engagement (MTE) bond in place of National Service obligations
