Location
This role is based at Fairfield Inn & Suites at The Keys Collection in Key West, Florida. The property opened in May 2015 and is a newer, contemporary hotel located at 3852 North Roosevelt Boulevard, near major local attractions such as Duval Street, Old Town, Mallory Square, Smathers Beach, Fort Zachary Taylor, and the Hemingway House. The hotel has 133 guest rooms.
Role overview
The Room Attendant is responsible for keeping guest rooms clean, presentable, and welcoming, while delivering prompt, polite, and efficient service to guests.
Responsibilities
- Clean guest rooms thoroughly and in line with hotel standards.
- Complete all setup tasks before cleaning, including organizing guest amenities, cleaning supplies, and linens for the housekeeping cart.
- Collect and remove trash and soiled linen from rooms and corridors.
- Maintain hallways, common areas, and storage closets in a tidy, vacuumed, and orderly condition.
- Replenish the housekeeping cart for the following day’s work.
- Refill chemical containers as needed.
- Notify the Housekeeping Supervisor or Manager about missing guest-room items such as irons, ironing boards, or hair dryers.
- Escalate maintenance issues promptly to the Housekeeping Supervisor or Manager.
- Process lost-and-found items according to hotel procedures.
- Support strong guest satisfaction through attentive service.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, along with prior experience in a hotel or similar environment. Candidates should be able to communicate clearly in both spoken and written form with employees and guests at all levels, and do so in a courteous, service-focused manner. The role also requires physical stamina, including the ability to stand for the full shift and to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds or frequently/constantly handle up to 20 pounds while moving objects.
Working conditions
This is an hourly, on-site temporary position.
