Role Overview
This role is a permanent, full-time, on-site position based in Auckland. The roofer will execute installation, repair, and upkeep of roofing systems throughout various residential and commercial projects. Responsibilities include preparing sites, removing old or damaged materials, accurately measuring and fitting products, and ensuring roofs are fully weatherproofed and meet high quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain work areas for roofing tasks
- Remove damaged or outdated roofing components
- Measure, cut, fit, and install roofing materials including metal and TPO membrane systems
- Inspect roofs to detect and repair faults
- Operate roofing hand and power tools safely
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of worksites
- Complete required job documentation thoroughly
- Work collaboratively with team members and independently under minimal supervision
- Adhere strictly to health, safety, and quality standards
Candidate Qualifications and Skills
- At least two years of full-time roofing experience with strong skills in installation, maintenance, and repairs
- Preferred experience with metal or membrane roofing systems
- Solid knowledge of roof flashings, guttering, waterproofing, insulation, and underlay installation
- Ability to measure and fit roofing products precisely
- Competence using roofing tools and equipment safely including working at heights with harnesses, ladders, and scaffolding
- Good physical condition, capable of manual outdoor labor in varied weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to superior workmanship
- Reliable, punctual, safety-conscious, and effective time management skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team following clear instructions
- Relevant trade qualifications in roofing or construction preferred but not mandatory
- Possession of a full New Zealand driver’s license preferred
- Legal authorization to work in New Zealand required
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development
- Agreement to pre-employment or random drug testing as per company safety policy
