Role overview
The Risk and Compliance Analyst will help the business identify, evaluate, and reduce operational and regulatory risks while supporting the maintenance of strong governance, risk management, and compliance practices throughout the organization.
Primary responsibilities
- Review business operations and workflows to identify risk exposures.
- Design practical mitigation measures for areas of concern.
- Build, update, and roll out risk management policies and procedures.
- Track adherence to risk-related controls and internal procedures.
- Offer risk advisory support to other teams whenever needed.
- Support activities tied to regulatory and legal compliance.
- Draft reports and presentations for senior leaders and committee-level governance forums.
- Monitor changes in regulations, standards, and industry best practices.
- Create and maintain compliance policies and procedures.
- Ensure continued alignment with applicable laws and regulations.
- Support internal compliance reviews, audits, and risk evaluations.
- Look into compliance incidents and suggest corrective measures.
- Plan and deliver training sessions on risk and compliance topics.
- Keep complete and accurate documentation of compliance work and outcomes.
- Escalate compliance matters to senior management and regulators when required.
- Carry out quarterly ICOFR testing for all included subsidiaries.
- Provide documentation and supporting information requested by external and internal auditors.
Skills and competencies
- Good grasp of risk management and regulatory compliance frameworks.
- Strong analytical ability and structured problem-solving approach.
- Careful attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Clear communication and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to understand, interpret, and apply regulatory requirements.
- Comfort using MS Office and risk or compliance software tools.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- At least 3 to 4 years of experience in a public listed company.
- Prior exposure to a Big Four firm at any stage of the career.
- Experience in a dedicated risk or compliance function.
- Professional qualifications such as ACCA or CIA are preferred.
- Fluency in both Arabic and English, spoken and written, is required.
Additional information
This position is based in Doha, Qatar and is a full-time onsite role.
