Quantity Surveyor

Overview

We are seeking a competent Quantity Surveyor based in Karachi, Pakistan, to join our team on a full-time basis. The role involves managing cost estimation, quantification, budgeting, and commercial controls for civil and interior fit-out projects from tender inception through to final account settlement.

Key Responsibilities

• Create Bills of Quantities (BOQs), perform cost estimates, and conduct quantity take-offs for civil and interior design fit-out tasks.
• Develop detailed rate analyses covering materials, labor, and specialized finishing works.
• Prepare and validate Interim Payment Certificates (IPCs), running bills, variations, and finalize accounts.
• Assist in tendering processes, procurement activities, and in assessing subcontractor bids.
• Coordinate closely with teams across design, interior design, MEP, site operations, and procurement to ensure cost alignment.
• Monitor project costs, evaluate changes in design scope, and compile monthly cost reporting.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and maintain accurate commercial records throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications and Experience

• A Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management is required.
• 6 to 8 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying for civil and interior fit-out projects.
• Experience working with commercial, residential, or hospitality projects is advantageous.

Skills and Competencies

• Comprehensive knowledge of civil construction and interior fit-out materials.
• Proficiency in Quantity Surveying tools and practices including BOQs, quantity take-offs, AutoCAD, total station usage, and Microsoft Excel.
• Understanding of FIDIC contracts or equivalent standard construction contract frameworks.
• Strong analytical thinking, negotiation capabilities, and effective communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple project packages simultaneously within tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience on turnkey and fast-track construction projects.
• Familiarity with MEP coordination in interior fit-out contexts.
• Exposure to construction practices common in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) or regional markets.

Work Environment

• Role requires both office-based duties and site visits.
• Regular visits to construction sites may be necessary depending on project needs.
