Role Purpose

The Quality Engineer ensures that production platforms and applications remain stable, reliable, and available by planning, performing testing, and developing automated test tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Devote approximately 80% of time to automation and 20% to manual exploratory testing.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and developers to ensure testing aligns with requirements.
• Design, code, test, and debug complex software solutions.
• Create, execute, and maintain automated tests for team-developed features.
• Guide the team toward simple, testable designs.
• Maintain strong understanding of software best practices.
• Assist in training new hires and junior members.
• Participate in risk assessments.
• Engage actively in project and team meetings, including sprint reviews, retrospectives, and planning.
• Partner with developers to detect defects early, such as through walkthroughs of features and fixes.
• Work to accomplish sprint goals.
• Identify and report defects during testing in line with procedures.
• Help specify, set up, and maintain test environments.
• Contribute to software testing documentation and knowledge sharing.
• Enhance software testability during sprint planning and leverage knowledge of testing tools and frameworks.
• Collaborate with senior colleagues to expand technical and product knowledge.
• Pursue appropriate training opportunities.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Between 2 to 5 years of solid coding experience in application development.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• ISTQB certification.
• Proficiency in coding and test automation tools.
• Strong problem identification and analysis capabilities.
• In-depth product knowledge and understanding of business implications tied to applications under test.
