Python Developer - Remote

Overview

This contract role as a Python Developer involves leveraging your backend development skills to support the training of advanced AI systems. Your contributions will directly influence how AI models learn, reason, and perform by providing real-world, high-quality input data. Prior AI experience is not necessary; emphasis is placed on your domain expertise and technical know-how.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, enhance, and maintain scalable API endpoints using REST and GraphQL.
• Implement robust backend data validation, error handling, and ensure API security best practices.
• Plan and conduct database schema migrations, apply optimizations, and manage structural updates.
• Undertake active testing of new AI-driven models within Cursor, supplying comprehensive feedback through incident reports, bug tracing, and visual documentation.
• Participate in focused 4-day testing sessions to evaluate AI model impact on coding workflows.
• Collaborate closely with the research team via dedicated communication channels to share insights and suggest improvements.
• Complete detailed post-testing surveys to report on AI model effectiveness and developer experience.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum three years of professional experience as a backend developer with a strong proficiency in Python.
• Solid experience in developing and maintaining RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Deep knowledge of backend validation processes, error management, and API security protocols.
• Practical experience with database migrations, performance tuning, and schema design.
• Regular user of AI programming tools; familiarity with Cursor is a significant advantage.
• Exceptional communication abilities, capable of producing clear, detailed incident and bug reports.
• Ability to excel in dynamic, confidential, and collaborative remote working environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Contributions visible on open-source platforms such as GitHub via stars or active projects.
• Experience in designing or assessing experimental development tools and workflows.
• Strong interest in advancing AI technology within software development.
